Mathia- Mathia is a web-based tutorial that follows along with our class study. Students will be expected to complete a course of lessons during each module. I will give the students 1 hour per week in class to work on Mathia. If a student needs extra time to finish each set of lessons, they may work on Mathia from home. Logging on to Carnegie Math, the student will enter the username- eusd-(lunch #). The password is Eu-(lunch #).

   **I will be having the class work on Prodigy at school and at home. The students will only need the free site tools. If you have issues with internet connections or your child doesn't have a device, then they may complete the Prodigy work at school.

 

 

  The class is finishing up a unit on Ancient China.  We have studied the major dynasties of China along with the importance of the Silk Road in bringing Chinese goods to the world. The students are working on a China board highlighting these four dynasties.

Our class will be one of the 6th grade classes piloting new NGSS materials this year. Last week, the students finished with the HMH pilot. We will start piloting TCi this week.  Even with being a pilot class, the science curriculum will cover all 6th grade standards.

   We are enjoying a quick break to delve into the genre of detective mysteries. We are exploring a great short story written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and starring Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.  The story is called "The Speckled Band."
